FLOOD RELIEF EFFORTS BY MYANMAR ETHNIC ROHINGYA HUMAN RIGHTS ORGANIZATION MALAYSIA (MERHROM) FOR MALAYSIAN FLOOD VICTIMS.
Myanmar Ethnic Rohingya Human Rights Organization Malaysia (MERHROM) is deeply sad over the lost of lives, houses and properties due to the flood that hit many states in Malaysia since December 2014. More than 200,000 people affected while 21 killed due to the flood. The flood victims facing a critical time at the moment and they are definitely hoping that the aid will reach them immediately. We are bless that Malaysian response very quickly in case of disaster to help the victims.
We understand that this is not easy for them and we understand that they need continuous support from each and every one of us. Therefore, MERHROM has been collecting donations among the Rohingya refugees in Malaysia for the flood victims. The item collected including rice, cooking oil, drinking water, noodles, toiletries, pampers, and clothes mainly from Rohingya community in Kampung Cheras Baru, Seri Gombak, Hulu Langat and Kampung Pandan.
We managed to collect around RM25,000 in terms of cash and items. We hope our little effort could reduce their suffering. We will do what we can to help the flood victims and we will continue to help. We also hope everyone will continue to support the flood victims even after the flood as they have to re-build their life after they lost their houses and properties.
