Military threatens to close Rohingya businesses

A military official has threatened to close down the pharmaceutical businesses owned by Rohingya Muslims in Boli Bazar, Maungdaw.
On Wednesday the official said that unless the Muslims came up with a net payment of 300,000 kyats, they would demolish their shops and confiscate their inventory.
The official said the Muslims were selling counterfeit drugs.
Authorities are tightening the squeeze on Rohingya livelihoods in what looks like a systematic effort to drive them out of the country.
