Armed men in the jungles of Buthidaung
By Burma Times
Almost 400 men are training in the jungles adjacent to the village of Dolu para, Buthidaung, according to our correspondent.
The presence of so many armed cadres with automatic rifles and rocket propelled grenades is terrorising the Muslim village.
Wood collectors of the area has stopped going to the jungle in recent days. Wood collecting is one of the last remaining source of livelihhood for destitute villagers.
There are suspicions that the armed men have full government support.
Meanwhile these cadres often go to nearby Rakhine settlements and assure them that they will get their full support in the event there are clashes with the Muslims.
