Rohingya solidarity rally: Nik Abduh calls for unity
KUALA LUMPUR: PAS Youth chief Nik Mohamad Abduh Nik Abdul Aziz (pix) has called on Malaysian Muslims to close ranks to “become strong again”.
Speaking at the Titiwangsa Stadium here Sunday at the Rohingya solidarity rally, Nik Abduh said that the plight of the Myanmar Muslim minority was a result of weakness which led to their persecution.
“When we see brothers who are weak and persecuted, we have to band together to be strong. Because only those who are strong can help the weak.
“Allah sees strength in us and strength only comes when we are united. It won’t happen if we are divided. We must be together,” he said.
A huge crowd thronged the stadium and the park outside in a protest rally against what Malaysia and the United Nations have called an “ethnic cleansing” against the Rohingya in Myanmar.
Speeches by Umno and PAS members also called for unity among Malaysian Muslims.
